Love simply is. -The Witch of Portobello

Allow to me to speak in the language of your heart and your soul. This time around, I have to be brave. I'll do this for today and I don't know when would I able to repeat this. I am taking my chance to speak so I have nothing to complain for. Translating the word of the heart is really hard, because even as easy as it is, we see it in a complicated way. We end up losing and never winning anything. I was lost in translation as I was thinking of what to say about the book. I decided, though I'll say what I want to say, it will be as simple as the line, Love simply is because we need to believe.

Because all my life, I've learned to suffer in silence.

That was an unforgettable line for me, because we all do. We love and we suffer in silence. No matter how verbally we translate what we feel, we know that words are not enough to say everything that is needed to be said. It is dramatic, one more reason for me to like it. It was poetic, romantic and yet painful.

Every time that I pick up a book by Paulo Coelho, I wake on a different plane. I wake up finding the same place but not feeling the same. I am not a stranger but I would be able to touch a part of me that has been existing in silence. So I can say that, if you haven't read Paulo Coelho, you haven't read a book.

Today, I was the mountain and I was moved. Who says that it only takes magic to be transformed? If it does then I guess Paulo Coelho is a greater magician than David Blaine (I am not sure of the spelling of his name). I learned things that I have known and I had the energy that I lost days ago.

The Witch of Portobello is the transformation of lead to gold. The moment I took it from the shelf, I know that I wouldn't put it down. Like all the books that I have read when I was about to finish I would give myself excuses to put it down but I was not able to resist it.

It did bewitched me. It spoke of things that we all knew and yet kept on forgetting. It made me ask myself about the things that I believe in. Rephrasing from my favorite anime - there is indeed a different "me" existing in other's mind than what I had in mine. Therefore, to know oneself is to look into another's eyes.

I would like to think that Coelho is not planning on when he would write. It might be pure coincidence that whenever he would give another installation of his works to his reader, the puzzle is being completed one by one. All his works are connected, bounded together by some unspeakable thought. Considering that they came from one writer, of course, they would have some connection or likeness but this connection that I am talking about would one that cannot be determined.

This book speaks of love and how it manifest through different kinds. It defies reasons and would bring the reader closer to his/her own self. This book is indeed a mirror. I've seen myself and yet, I am not a follower of the Great Mother, I know that I have to listen to a divine voice that speaks to me all the time. This divine voice would have different names, as for me his name is Jesus. He is not far, he carries me all the time.

If you plunge into the realm of Paulo Coelho, I can assure you a different awakening. Like his timeless tales, you will experience your own transformation. At some point, you will be the wind in the middle of the desert. In other point, you would be crazy and it will be perfectly normal. You'll fall in love and would see it in all aspect. I took the gold that the stranger offered and I would really say that it was lead and now I have the gold.

And what can I say about the book? It made me believe. Nothing else but believe. Do not question because love simply is.

Athena: Why is patience so important?
Nabil: Because it makes us pay attention.

Edda:
You are what you believe.
...because we all know everything, it's merely a question of believing.
Believe.

Heron: What is love, then?
Athena as Hagia Sofia: Love always stays...Love is. No definitions. Love and don't ask too many questions. Just love.
